Lenora Nivens

Lenora Joy Nivens, 77, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Celebration Family Church with Pastor Dwight Kirksey officiating.  Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the funeral home in Fritch.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help with expenses to Darrell Nivens, Sr., 149 Ranch Road, Fritch, Texas, 79036.

Lenora was born January 11, 1945, in Amarillo to John Beard and Dorothy Maxey Beard.  She married Darrell Nivens on August 31, 1963, in Amarillo.  Lenora worked for Sanford-Fritch Independent School District for over 20 years before retiring.  She loved being outdoors and going to the river with her family.  Lenora was a true “boy mom” and she could hold her own with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Beard; and sisters, Joan Massey, Gloria Beard and Verna Kay Sanders.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell Nivens, Sr. of Fritch; sons, Darrell Nivens, Jr. of Fritch; Jason Nivens and wife Veronica of Fritch; grandchildren, Dominique Nivens and wife Bailey, Drake Nivens, Jathan Nivens and wife Breuklyn, Jimmy Jones, Jade Nivens and Joshua Langham, Jaston Nivens, Mackenzie Nivens, Braylee Nivens, Laura King and husband Justin of Dallas, Shelli Paris and husband Chase of Fritch, Sharra Winters and Stephen of Fritch, Dakota Luman  and Megan Hollis of Fritch; great grandchildren, Paislee,  Hayden, Kayson, Breezie, Cayde, Tristan, Brystol, Khopyn, Swayzi, Gracie, Noah; brothers, John Beard of Amarillo, Tony Beard of Amarillo, Tommy Beard of Granbury; sisters, Maxine Keller and husband David of Granbury, Elaine Morris of Denton; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
