Leonard Laughery

Leonard Carl Laughery, 64, was born on August 19, 1944 in Amarillo and went to be with the Lord Monday, October 6, 2008 in Borger.BRBRServices will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Bunavista Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Hensley, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.BRBRCarl was a friend to everyone. He was like Will Rogers. He never met a man, or anybody, he didn't like. He loved to sing and was know to many as Elvis. He had many friends. Anyone that met him never fogot him. He touched so many lives. He loved people.BRBRCarl was a heat, frost and asbestos worker for Local 66 for fifteen years. Then he worked at the Copolymer Plant in Borger before going to work at Agrium. In 1997 he owned Energy Insulator Co. for ten years. In 2002 he went to work for TDCJ at the Clements Unit as a guard until his retirement in 2005. BRBRCarl loved Elvis and was an impersonator of Elvis for the last twelve years. He touched many lives and he loved to make people smile. BRBRHe loved his church and he loved the Lord. He was music director at Bunavista Baptist Church for the last four years.BRBRCarl loved his family and is survived by his wife, Sandra of 44 years; his daughters - Kim Larker of Borger, Kelli Jones of Hendersonville, TN; his son - Kacey Laughery of Murphy, TX; his adopted son - Michael Casey of Borger and eight beautiful grandchildren - Lindsey, Brad, Jacob Brett of Hendersonville, TN, Cory, Brady Cami of Borger, and Mollie Kate of Murphy, TX. He is also survived by his brother - Don Laughery of Fritch, Ernie Key of Fritch and Charles Key of Sanford. BRBRHe was preceded in death by a brother - Gerald Laughery, his father - Elvert Franks Laughery, and his mother -Florence Key Cranfill.BRBRHis grandchildren loved their Papo and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.BRBRCasket bearers will be Corey Larker, Brad Jones, Dustin Klause, Matthew Klause, Michael Casey and Donny Laughery.BRBRMemorials may be made to Bunavista Baptist Church, 2 Amaryllis, Borger 79007.BR
