Lester Lusk, 86, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016.
Funeral services will be held 10 am Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the First United Methodist Church of Panhandle with Rev. Jerry Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the Alzheimer's Association Panhandle Chapter, 2200 West Seventh Street, Amarillo, Texas, 79106.
Lester was born October 14, 1929 in Carson County, Texas to Elsie (Obrecht) and W.H. Lusk. He was a wheat, corn and milo farmer in Carson County, having his own place since the age of 16. Lester enjoyed watching college football at WT and high school football at Panhandle High. He and his wife, Sara, enjoyed going square dancing and were not afraid to travel to do so.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sara Lusk; twin nephews, George and William; and nephew, Calvin Robinson.
Survivors include his son, Don Lusk of Panhandle; daughter, Connie Rhinehart of Nolensville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Shawn Garret Rhinehart, Amanda Ann Rhinehart; one great grandson, Mason Paul; sister, Vera Crowell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
