Lester Wiles, Jr.

Lester Leroy Wiles, Jr., 103, died Monday December 7, 2015 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Memory Gardens Cemetery and Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Park Central in Amarillo. Family requests friends to meet at the funeral home in Borger for a visitation from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Lester was born November 20, 1912 in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Lester, Sr. and Oril T. Turner Wiles. He was a graduate of Oklahoma University and was a self employed Petroleum Engineer. He lived in Borger for 62 years before moving to Amarillo 18 years ago where he was a member of the 1st Baptist Church. Lester had served on the Borger Independent School District School Board, was a 60 year member of the Borger Rotary Club, a charter member of Faith Covenant Church, past president of the Panhandle Producers Association and loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Sylvia Lewis, his first wife Loraine Wiles, and his second wife Eva Wiles.

He is survived by his wife Alice of Canyon, his son Mike Wiles and his wife Ann Roberts Wiles of Round Rock, TX, Seven Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.
