Linda “Lynn” Brownlee Sweet Isbell, 74, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by family on November 26, 2022.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. November 30 in the Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Isbell was born in Borger, Texas on October 5, 1948. She attended Borger High School and also Amarillo College, where she completed corrections officers classes. She moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1976 from Perryton, Tx where she lived for nine years and worked as a cashier at United Supermarkets. She was a CO. 3 at the Bill Clements Unit psych center from 1990-1995. In 1990, she married Freddie Isbell and they co-owned Isbell Trucking, where she ran the office. She later held security positions with Wackenhut Corporation; as a sergeant at Nation’s Bank in downtown Amarillo; at the federal building; as captain for WISE Securities at the control tower at Rick Husband International Airport; and at Bell Helicopter.

Lynn was a member of the Western Cherokee Nations, was a volunteer for Rape Crisis & Domestic Violence, was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Perryton, and was a member of the Peoples Chapel Church in Perryton.

Lynn and Freddie moved to Aransas Pass, Texas in 2008 and lived there for 12 years. In 2020, they moved to Woodward, Oklahoma where she took care of her father until his death in January of 2022. Lynn loved taking her dogs to the beach, fishing, eating seafood, and hanging out with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Ray and Nadine Owens, sisters Delores Brooks, Clara Nell Brooks, and Helen Marie Versher, and brother Wayne Brooks and her mother-in-law Sue Bentley.

Survivors include her husband Freddie Isbell, son William Ray Brownlee and wife April, daughter Lorri Thomas and husband Gary, daughter Evan Pair and husband Tommy, son Freddie Isbell, Jr. and Kathleen Ford, and grandchildren Nathaniel Thomas, Sean Thomas, Reagan Brownlee, Catherine Brownlee, Ryan Brownlee, Harleigh Pair, Bethany Isbell, and Harper Isbell.

The family requests memorials are made to Traditions Health Hospice-Woodward, OK 1125 40th St Suite D Woodward, OK, 73801 or the Humane Society.
