Linda Mercer

Linda Lee Mercer, 76 of Sanford passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Pampa, Texas. Celebration of life will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Minton Memorial Chapel. Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Linda was born July 9, 1946, in Wellington, Kansas to George Washington and Nina Viola (Johnson) Walton. She married Charles Frederick “Fred “Mercer Jr.  on December 16, 1963, in Winfield, Kansas.  She served as assistant postmaster of Sanford. Linda sold Avon, collected bells, and loved her cats.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband and siblings, Raymond and wife Nellie Sue Walton, Clyde Walton, June Marie and husband Edward Armstrong, Lois A Martin,  Ronald and wife Glenda Fern Walton, Donald and wife Loretta Marie Walton, Dale and wife Sharon K Walton, George “Tim “Walton and brother-in-law Ripper Wise.

Surviving are her sons, Richard Aaron Mercer of Sanford and Charles Frederick Mercer, III of Sanford; sister, Pat Wise of Newkirk, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
