Lois Burris

Lois Lee Burris, 83, died Friday October 25, 2013 at her home in Borger. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday in Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Burris was born November 6, 1929 in Shamrock to Oren Lee McDonald and Alta Mae Dalrymple McDonald, her family moved to Borger soon after and Lois lived her lifetime in Borger. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and a 1948 graduate of Borger High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Lois married Donald Speedy Burris May 6, 1951 in Borger. She was president of the Borger Duplicate Bridge Club and loved to cook, read, work word puzzles and she loved to help people. Lois and Speedy loved to Square Dance and Ballroom dance.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years Donald Speedy Burris, her son David Burris and his wife Chloe of Borger, her daughter Pam Brooks of Borger, her two brothers Benny McDonald of Allen, TX and Jim McDonald of Mission, TX, two Grandchildren David Burris, Jr. and wife Jennifer and Heather Barker and husband David and six GreatGrandchildren.
