Lola Oakley

Lola Oakley, 81, of Borger passed away on July 21, 2008 in Austin after a short illness. Lola was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Friday, July 25th, at Calvary Baptist Church with Father Rusty Hewes of Norman, Ok. officiating and Dr. Tom Tribble of Alvarado, Tx. assisting.

Lola was born on September 10, 1926 five minutes after her twin sister Ola, in Seminole, Ok. to Royal and Anne Jackson. Lola married Bill Oakley on Sept 21, 1945 in Seminole Ok. They shortly moved to Borger where Lola worked at Barney's Pharmacy and various stores in Borger. In 1952 Lola and Bill started their insurance agency Oakley Insurance. They worked together side by side for the next 52 years in their agency. Lola was an energetic and proud woman. She loved her family and was totally devoted to them. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Lola was a great cook and she loved to have her family and friends around her. She had a close church family at Calvary Baptist Church where she enjoyed the friendships and spiritual environment. She believed in hard work and honesty. Lola was a true business woman and ahead of her time in the business world. Bill could have never made such a successful agency without her and she could have never done it without him. They mad a perfect team. Lola will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Lola is survived by her devoted daughter Susan Tribble of Austin and her children Josh Laughry of Dallas, Rylee Tribble of Austin; son Billy Oakley and children Pamela, Brittney, and Megan Oakley all of Borger; Brother, Ray Jackson of Seminole, Ok.; Nephews, Father Rusty Hewes of Norman Ok., Louis Jackson of California; Niece, Diane Jackson of Oklahoma City. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Oakley Feb. 15, 2000; her parents; twin sister Ola Hewes; two brothers Cecil Jackson and G B Jackson.
