Lou Smith

Lou Ella Smith, 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ at Borger with Wes Balentine and Kay Litterell, Elders officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Devotion at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Smith was born on September 13, 1930 in Gotebo, Oklahoma. She graduated from Ocina High School in 1949 as valedictorian of her class. She married Earl Randall Smith on March 27, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1982.

She is survived by her children Jimmie Earl Smith and wife Debbie of Dumas, Carla Sue Gilchrest and husband Cecil of Tuttle, OK, Debra Jean Smith of the home and Joe Dale Smith and wife Lisa of Borger ten grandchildren Lee Gilchrest and wife Jeni of Tuttle, OK, Terry Gilchrest and wife Sherrie of Tuttle, OK, Christie Smith of Dalhart, James Smith and Stacey Smith of Dumas, Zeb Smith, Mat Smith, Cody Smith, Jennifer Anderson and husband Jared, Jessika Sanders and husband Johnny all of Borger, fifteen greatgrandchildren Ty, Cody Nathan Eastepp, Natalie Smith, Autumn Gilchrest, Lauren Brown, Eli and Luke Gilchrest, Chancee Robinette, Zane Smith, Maecee Anderson, Cooper Sanders, Logan, Lane and Hunter Parish two brothers DeWayne Stafford of Saginaw, TX, Jerry Stafford and wife Gay of Troy, TX, two sisters Lottie Sunderland of Borger, Collene Rockhold of Fort Scott, KS, two sisterinlaws Leora Robinson of Sayre, OK, Velma Smith of Post, TX and many nephews nieces.
