Louis Dodson

Louis Ray Dodson, 85, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 pm on Monday, May 17, 2021 at St. John Catholic Church with Father Jim Schmitmeyer officiating.  Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  The rosary will be recited beginning at 6 pm on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in the Minton Memorial Chapel.  In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to St. John Catholic Church, 201 Saint John's Road, Borger, TX 79007.

Louis was born September 6, 1935 in Aspermont, Texas to Clyde Dodson and Lola B. Smith Dodson.  He married Kathylene Himmelberg on December 27, 1991 in Stinnett.  Louis was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed working, fishing, camping, working in the yard, and animals of any kind.  Louis volunteered in his younger years as an ambulance driver and a Little League coach for his kids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lola Dodson; two brothers, Warren and Bailey; sister, Margaret; and daughter, Leslie Beagle and her husband, Arden.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Fritch; sons, Ray Dodson and wife Shawna of Zephyr, Texas, Ross Dodson and wife Debbie of Farmersville, Texas, Ron Dodson and wife Donna of Canton, Greg Drennan and wife Carla of Stinnett, Paul Drennan of Fritch; daughter, Vicki Selter and husband Will of Aspermont; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-three great grandchildren.
