Lovell Heath

Lovell Gay Perry Heath, 81 of Borger died Friday, January 27, 2017 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 31 at the Saint Andrew Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Carter officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Gay was born on July 7, 1935 to Dayton and Marie (Roberts) Perry in Wichita Falls, TX. She graduated from Borger High School in 1953 and married Ray Heath in December of 1958 at McConnell AFB Wichita, KS. She received her Bachelor BBA in May of 1964 and her Masters of Education in May of 1972 from West Texas State University. Gay furthered her course work at UCLA, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton. She was an elementary school teacher in California from 1964 to 1969, Washington State from 1979 to 1982 and in Colorado from 1982 to 1983. She was an in-service Education Coordinator for Boulder Valley School in Boulder Colorado from 1974 to 1977. Gay was owner and coordinator of the Heath Education Center in Boulder from 1977-1979. She also taught and played piano. Gay loved working with children and had a quest for knowledge. She was always learning and inquisitive. Gay was a breast cancer survivor since 1994.
Gay is survived by her husband, Ray; son David Heath of Lakewood, CO; sisters, Ann Hathaway and husband, Harvey and Sharon Laughery both of Borger.
The family requests that memorial be made in her name to the Susan B. Komen Foundation, at P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265.
