Lucinda “Cindy” Kay Burns, 70, of Amarillo, TX, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2021.
Cindy was born in Borger, TX on May 8, 1951. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Brown McMurry and Lecrecia McMurry and her younger sister, Linda Cuzick. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, David Burns of Amarillo, TX and a brother, Todd McMurry and his wife Julie of Borger, TX.
Cindy graduated from Borger High School in 1969 and married David January 24, 1970 in Borger. She and David owned and ran West Park Drug in Hereford, TX where they raised their two sons.
Cindy had a love for interior design and used her talents to decorate the homes of many special friends. She enjoyed cooking holiday meals for her entire extended family and was the first to arrive when anyone was in need. She was a good friend to many people far and wide.
Cindy was a devoted wife, loving mother, and an amazing Bumbe. She leaves behind two children: Aaron Burns and his wife Lana of Pagosa Springs, CO, and Chad Burns and his wife Amber, of Ingram, TX. She has 3 grandchildren: Peyton Burns of Colorado Springs, CO, Owen Burns of Pagosa Springs, CO, and Aidin Burns of Ingram, TX. She has many nieces and nephews that she loved like her own. She will be dearly missed by all.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Minton Memorial Chapel in Borger, TX, at 11:00am on Monday, September 27, 2021.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
