Luella May Helms, 85, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Bunavista Baptist Church with Rev. Conny Moore officiating on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Private graveside services will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Charlie Ford officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Luella May Helms was born October 7, 1930 in Lamont, Oklahoma to Mike Coolidge White and Myrtle May (Leffler) White. Luella married Jim Helms on June 16, 1984 and made their home in Borger. She was married to her loving husband for almost 32 years.
Luella had worked as the administrator for the Dumas, Texas nursing home; and as a Secretary for Dyne Oil & Gas, Inc. for 17 years. She was a member of Bunavista Baptist Church. She was a proud member of the Order of Eastern Star for 60 years. She had a passion for fishing, sewing, traveling, collecting recipes and yardwork. She took pleasure in cooking for the Sunday evening fellowship. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Luella is survived by her husband, Jim Helms; two daughters: Cheryl Turner, and husband, Dennis of Vici, Oklahoma and Janis Gee, and husband, Gene of Perryton, Texas, brother Max F. White and wife Jan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sister-in-law Peggy White of Texhoma, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews.
Luella was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Kelly Hill, of Rogers Arkansas; Pebbles Jones and husband, Glenn of Mount Vernon, Kentucky; Michael Caddel, and wife, Gina of Mexia, Texas; Shane Gee and wife, Kelli of , Anna Texas; Brenda Breashears and husband, Chad of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Chris Caddel and wife, Lauren, of Porter, Texas; Paula Cook and husband, Howard of Perryton, Texas; Tricia Jennings and husband, Cory of Flower Mound, Texas; Michelle Daniels of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Jessica Gee and Greg Kirby of Perryton, Texas. She was additionally blessed with 41 great-grandkids and great-great grandkids.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents: Mike C. White and Myrtle May White; siblings: Milt F. White, Elmer R. White, Dwain C. White and Lucille Snelson.
