Lyle Gene Denny, 66, beloved Husband, Father and Grumpy was called to his eternal resting place on December 7, 2020.
Graveside services will be held 2 pm on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
He entered this world on February 15, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, born to Kenneth Lyle Denny and Elsie Marylou Riddle Denny.
He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 48 years, Ronda; daughter, Nikkie Jacobs and husband Matt; granddaughters, Lyndsie and Macie Jacobs; sister, Linda Cintella; brother, Brian Denny; and 4 nephews.
Lyle was a police officer for most of his life. He started at Amarillo Police Department in 1976. He then moved to Canyon Police Department in 1978 to 1991. He worked security at Pantex from 1991 until he found his true home in Panhandle Texas in 2007. Lyle was a sergeant at the Panhandle Police Department, and the School Resource officer with Panhandle ISD for 3 years. Lyle never met a stranger and could not go anywhere without seeing someone he knew. He was a member of the Blue Knights, Cal-Tex Riders, Past Master Mason at Masonic Lodge in Panhandle, and was "Grumpy" in the Wild Hogs. Lyle will be remembered and missed for his always funny and sometimes inappropriate FaceBook Posts and his great sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, his memory may be honored with a gift to the Panhandle Wild Hogs (Blaze Coffee Memorial Fund) and Dusty Puddle Dachshund Rescue in Lubbock, Texas.
