Mace Hollis Jones, 88, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Forsythe officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Love at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mace was born August 3, 1923 in Soper, Oklahoma to Jim and Maudie Jones. He was serving in the United States Army during WW II and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Mace married Mary Ferris, February 29, 1944 in Wheeler, and he has lived in the Borger and Fritch area since 1946. He was an electrician for Phillips Petroleum Co., where he retired. Mace loved being around his family more than anything.
Mace is preceded in death by his wife Mary, January, 27, 2010, his parents, and eight siblings.
Survivors include a son, Bob Jones and wife Sherron of Skellytown, three daughters, Debi Anderson, Linda Poston, Rena Mitchell and husband Steve, all of Borger, two sisters, Maudie Bill Smith and husband Vaughn, and Nadine Oldham, both of Amarillo, 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Family will be at 1112 Monroe St.
