Margaret Estelle Badeen, 90, died February 21, 2015 in Amarillo. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Minton Memorial Chapel in Borger. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Margaret was born September 1, 1924 in Webb City, OK to Leroy Hiram Ellis and Marie Emiline Abbett Ellis. She moved with her mother to Phillips, TX in 1928 after the death of her father, graduated Phillips High School and moved to San Diego, CA. Margaret worked during the WWII for North American Aviation manufacturing airplanes for the war effort, she met Frank C. Badeen and they were married May 22, 1945 in Yuma, AZ. They moved to Borger at 1501 Bedivere in 1948 and then to Amarillo in 2008. Margaret was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, president of the PTA, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #811. She was a member of the Borger Christian Center and attended Trinity Fellowship in Amarillo she was a Sunday School Teacher for elementary grades. Most of all Margaret loved her family, her faith and her country.
She was preceded In death by her husband Frank C., Sr., her parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and her son in law Jeff Knickerbocker.
Margaret is survived by her four sons Frank C. Badeen, Jr. and wife DeeDee, Michael Roy Badeen and wife Theresa of Bartlesville, OK, David E. Badeen and wife Debbie of Rogers, AR and Abraham "Abe" Badeen and wife Lori of Bentonville, AR her one daughter Stella Knickerbocker of Amarillo, twelve grandchildren Chris Shadbolt, Sharmain Shadbolt-Westmoreland, Amber Wise, Cherie Daneen Badeen, Quincy Patin, Jake Patin, Cynthia Badeen Cox, Taylor Badeen, Michelle Badeen Wieneke, Ashley Badeen, Lauren Badeen and Emily Badeen, Twelve Great Grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
The family requests donations be made the the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
Visitation will be from Noon until 1:30 Tuesday at the funeral home.
