Marion Glenn Brannan, 76, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Fritch.BR

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Westlawn Memorial Park with Mr. Michael McCall, interim pastor at Franklin Church of Christ,officiating and Mr. Bill Phillips, Assisting. Interment will be in The Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.BRBRMr. Brannan was born on March 8, 1933 on the Haile Place near Stratford in Sherman County to Lewie and Ruth Sanders Brannan. Glenn married Jeanne Sue Wells, daughter of C.W. Pup and Rose Wells of Stratford on September 7, 1953 in Clayton, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Annabell and twin brothers Edgar and Edward Brannan.BRBRHe served in the US Army during the Korean Warf from 1953 to 1955 as Battery Commander in the 168th Anti-Aircraft Battalion. He was stationed at Ft. Sill, Ok; Ft. Rucker, AL; and Ft. Bliss in El Paso. Glenn was an officer on the Girl Scout Council, the Boy Scouts, PTA, was a driver for the Fritch Meals on Wheels and was known as BRThe Donut Man' at the Fritch Day Care Center.BRBRHe retired from Phillips Petroleum Co. in 1994 after 39 12 years. While working for Phillips, his family lived in Cactus, Dumas, Okmulgee, OK, Beatrice NE and Borger. Glenn's job took him to Wyoming, Kansas and Montezuma Creek and the Utah Reservation. He and Jeanne have lived in Fritch since 1983.BRBRMuch of Glenn's free time was spent following the granddaughters to various school events and athletic competitions, and working in the yard. He enjoyed visiting while walking around the neighborhood and loved showing people the great-grandkids pictures.BRBRGlenn was a devout Christian and member of the Franklin Street Church of Christ in Borger where he served as a song leader.BRBRHis survivors include Jeanne, his wife of 55 12 years, daughter and son-in law Renee and Bill Phillips of Fritch, son and daughter-in-law Ron and Vonda Brannon of Borger, and daughter and son-in-law Rose and Joe Lemley of Clarendon. His grandchildren are Ami and Fidel Barraza, Jessica Carlisle, Kelley and Tyler Battey, Lauren Brannan, Regan Lemley, Abby Mae Brannan, Chris and Candra Phillips and Deana Phillips. Great-grandchildren include Fidel Fuzz Barraza, Jr. and Mercedes Renee Barraza, Brannan Lee and Wyatt Carlisle, Asia Brannan, Sydney Phillips and Austin and Cody Lowry. His twin sisters are Ruby Brewer of Burleson and Ruth Goins of Grove, OK. Several nieces and nephews of which include Wayne Brewer of Joshua, TX, and also his mother-in-law Rose Wells of Stratford. Glenn's parting will be sorely missed by his furry kid, Lupita.BRBRThe family expresses special thanks to Texas Oncology, Hospice of the Southwest nurses and support system, and Dr. Tim Mooring.BRBRIn lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Hospice of the Southwest, 1301 S.
