Marquette Denise Meyer Jeffcoat, 68, lost a hard-fought, courageous battle with leukemia on January 1, 2022.
Marquette was born on May 12, 1953, in Borger, Texas to Walter William Meyer and Geraldine Burns Meyer. She graduated from Phillips High School in 1971. Marquette worked as a civil servant supporting the US Army at several bases in the United States and in Germany. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Whether vacationing in Florida, going to rock concerts with her kids, or sitting around a family-filled table playing endless games, she was filled with laughter and a fun spirit. Marquette had an impeccable memory and an unmatched determination. During the past year, while hospitalized in Dallas and going through many rounds of chemotherapy, she was unwilling to ever give up despite the difficult path she faced and endured. Throughout this time, she was supported by her loving family and many friends with her niece Ronna by her side.
Marquette was preceded in death by her beloved parents Walt and Geraldine Meyer, her sister Donna.
Marquette is survived by her daughter, Shanna Jeffcoat of Clarksville, Tennessee; stepsons Kelly Jeffcoat and wife Lisa of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Terry Jeffcoat and wife Kim of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sister Rene’ Cook and her husband Robert of Fritch, Texas; nieces Ronna Brooks and husband Ryan of Little Elm, Texas, and Raelyn Walker and husband Jake of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nephew Devin Cook and wife Amy of Fritch, Texas; 7 grandkids, 3 great-grandkids, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and loving friends.
Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and support staff at Baylor Scott White that worked tirelessly to help Marquette. A special thank you to Dr. Robert Berryman.
A celebration to honor Marquette will be held in Fritch, Texas at a later date.
