Martha Prater, 73, of Fritch died March 22, 2013 in Dumas. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the 1st United Methodist Church in Fritch with Rev. Jerry Don Cheshire, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Martha was born October 21, 1939 in Sherman, Texas to Ira Orin Judd and Augusta Ophelia Hughes Judd, she has lived in this area since 1945. Martha Judd married Bryan Eugene Prater August 28, 1959 in Borger. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Fritch and a former Teacher in Fritch for Sanford Independent School District where she taught many students in her 25 years of teaching. Martha wrote the 8th grade reading program, she loved to play golf and was a member of the Ladies Golf Association for many years. She loved to snow ski, water ski, dance and loved RV camping. Her favorite thing was anything with her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Bryan Gene Prater, her two sons Bryan Prater and wife Sherri and Joe Prater and wife Teresa both of Amarillo, two sisters Jane Davis of California and Virginia Nelson of Kingman, Arizona, one brother Jerry Judd of Broken Arrow, OK, 7 Grandchildren Monica, Devin, Avery, Matt, Shawna, Sharla and Shayla and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be Devin Prater, Avery Prater, Jim Judd, Frank Nelson, Mike Prater and Terry Prater.
