Granny Norene Smith, 90, died Monday, February 2, 2009 in Borger, Texas.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 901 N. Hedgecoke in Borger. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 9th, at Keene Memorial Park Cemetery in Keene, Texas under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
She was born on November 10, 1918 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, went to school in Bartlesville, OK and later moved to Borger. She married Harold Smith in 1944 and worked out of her house baking and sewing for the public from 1955 to 1963. She then moved to Amarillo in 1965 and worked at Gwyn Drapery and Colberts. She moved Ft. Worth in 1975 to taker care of her parents. While in Ft. Worth, she worked at Cox's. She retired in 1978 and resided in Forth Worth until 2005, when she moved to Skellytown. In 2007, she moved in with her daughter until the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Stout, her parents Si and Lula Trammel, one brother and one sister.
Survivors include her son Larry Smith and wife, Evie of Erie, CO, daughter Sherry Moore and husband Raymond of Borger, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be Mike Smith, Jeremy Smith, Chris Smith, Glenna Smith, Ray Moore, Denny Moore, Christy Campbell, Julie Stout and Jeff Stout.
There will be a visitation at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
