Mary Barton

Mary Bernice Oxford Barton, 93, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 in Austin. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Westlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Ted Wilson, of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Interment will be in The Garden of Beatitudes at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Barton was born on August 2, 1915 in Waco, Texas and had been a Borger resident since 1949. She received her Master's Degree in Special Education at Southwest Texas State University and was a special ed teacher for Philllips ISD. She marrried Billy Odell Barton on October 31, 1936 in Easatland, Texas and he preceded her in death in 2002. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her son - Bill Barton and wife Judy of Austin, grandchildren Laura Weiss, Clay Barton and Sharon, Travis Barton and Lisa all of Austin. Great-grandchildren Sara Weiss Bark and Adam, Matthew Weiss, James Barton, Kyle Barton, Caleb Barton, and Mary Lynn Barton all of Austin.
