Mary Dean Carney Brown, 77, died Thursday, May 22, 2008 in Amarillo.BRBRServices will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Joe Zimmerman, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.BRBRMrs. Brown was born on August 8, 1930 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas and had been a Panhandle resident since 1961, moving here from Groom. She worked in the Panhandle Independent School District cafeterias for 30 years. She married Charles S. Brown on March 4, 1950 in Westfork, Arkansas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Panhandle, loved taking care of her kids, sewing and cooking.BRBRShe was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Eula Mae Carney, daughter, Judy Mae Paulson, and sister, Betty Lou Neal.BRBRShe is survived by her husband, Charles S. Brown of the Home, three sons - Sterling Ray Brown of Panhandle, Buddy Thomas Brown and wife Bonnie of Monte Vista, Colorado, Kenneth Brown and wife Kathy of Amarillo, son-in-law - Fred Paulson of Center, Colorado, seven grandchildren and fiveBRgreat-grandchildren.BRBRCasket bearers will be Sterling Brown, Buddy Brown, Kenneth Brown, James Brown, Tommy Brown, Bill Brown, Kenny Brown and Rick Paulson.BRBRMemorials may be made to BSA Hospice, Box 950, Amarillo 79105 or the First Baptist Church Building Fund, Box 189, Panhandle 79068.
