Mary Lee Craig, 85, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, March 17, 2017 at New Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Donald R. Colbert, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mary affectionately known as "Sis" was born May 13, 1931 in Clarendon, Texas to the parentage Mollie Young-Craig and William Craig. She was a longtime member of New Zion Baptist Church in Borger, Texas where she served faithfully.
Mary was an excellent cook and enjoyed making sweet potato pies, bread puddings, and summer sausage and enjoyed cooking for the Church. She enjoyed going to garage sales and going to the Salvation Army with her sister Virginia and niece Vanessa. Mary Lee had an excellent sense of humor and would keep you laughing while in her presence.
Mary is an Alumna of Borger's historic Booker T. Washington School (BTW). Because of her sewing skills she helped to construct the first girls' basketball uniforms for the Girl BTW Dragons.
She is preceded in death by her son, Baby Eiglberger; her parents; her brother, Robert Lee Craig and sister/cousin, Mary Louise Allen.
Mary leaves to cherish her outstanding sense of humor and wonderful memories: her daughter, Fannie L. Sauls and husband John of Renton, Washington; three
granddaughters; four grandsons; nine great granddaughters; eight great grandsons; one great-great granddaughter; one great-great grandson; sister, Virginia L. Jones of Borger; four brothers, Scott Branch and wife Yolanda Wilson of Borger, Texas, Marvin Branch of Amarillo, Texas, David Ellis Branch of Seattle, Washington, Forrest L. Craig and wife Mary Alice "Sugar Baby" of Moreno Valley, California; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
