Mary Jo Harguess, 80, died Monday, June 22, 2009 in Amarillo.BRBRServices will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Joe Zimmerman, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.BRBRMary was born on August 11, 1928 in Wolfe City, Texas to Nathan Effie Mae Butler and had been a Panhandle resident for eight years. She married Morris Oran Harguess on July 27, 1946 in Greenville, TX and was a babysitter. She loved to cook, shop at flea markets, gardening, antiques and her kids, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and three brothers.BRBRShe is survived by her son - Larry Harguess and wife Debra of Amarillo, brother - Billy Paul Butler of Wolfe City, TX, sister - Melba Jean Roberts of Amarillo, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
