Mary Nix

Amarillo Graveside services for Mary Belle Slagle Nix, 86, of Amarillo will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Panhandle Cemetery with Rev. Edwin Modrick, Associate Pastor of Washington Ave. Christian Church in Amarillo. Services are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Mrs. Nix loved her family and the Dallas Cowboys.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Herbert and James Slagle and her sister Lavone Gilley.

Mrs. Nix is survived by two sons Orvie Nix and wife Judy of Amarillo, Rickey Nix and wife Sheila of Amarillo, two daughters Cherry Heffner and husband Cliff of Amarillo and Cindy Hurley also of Amarillo, also three grandsons Gerald Nix of Hobbs, NM, Kent Nix of Panhandle and Kevin Shockey of Amarillo, five granddaughters Carrie Blakey of Oklahoma City, OK, April Whaley of New Deal, TX, Christi Warren of Austin, TX, Paula Allcorn of Olton, TX and Tina Shockey of Austin, TX and Her brother Perry Slagle and sister Sara Rice both of Bryan, TX and her sister-in-law Bobbie Slagle of Amarillo, also 18 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson.

The family will receive visitors Monday at 3:00 at the home of Orvie Nix, 7801 Farrell in Amarillo.
