Mary Jo "Jody" Powell, 89, of Panhandle passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 in McLean.
Graveside services will be 2 pm. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Panhandle Cemetery with her Great Grandson Mark Putman of Clarendon officiating. Services and cremation are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Jody was born April 7, 1927 in Panhandle to James and Anna (Neal) Kelly. She was a lifetime resident of Panhandle, and a member of the St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Jody worked for the Pioneer Natural Gas Company for 30 years as a clerk/secretary. She was in several bowling leagues in Amarillo up until a couple of years ago. Jody was a red hatter, and loved to dance and play bingo.
Survivors include her daughter Margaret Milam of Pampa; five grandchildren, Tom Milam and wife Jullie of Panhandle, Dawna Gay Hearon of Amarillo, Robin McCullough and husband Jake of Gruver, Le Arnn of Pampa, Christopher Homer and wife Gracie of Gruver; seven great-grandchildren, Isaiah Homer, Hunter Homer, Mark Putman, Dakota Milam, Skyler Milam, Kade Arnn, and Logan McCullough.
Jody is preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmore Thomas "Jack" Powell, and a daughter Jackie Kay Simpson.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in honor of Jody Powell.
