Mary Ellen Vaughn, 87, of Borger died Monday, September 17, 2012 in Borger.

Mary Ellens wishes were that her body be donated to science. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mary Ellen Vaughn was born January 18, 1925 in Seymour, Indiana to Clyde Marling and Mary Crabtree Marling. She retired from the Housing and Urban Development program as a coordinator, and was a member of the Church of Christ at Borger. She loved working in the yard, cooking, and was such a caring person. Mary Ellen was a Borger resident for the last 38 years, and had lived in Dumas prior to that. When she lived in Dumas her and husband Shelby did lots of farming together.

Survivors include two sons, Tim and Kevin Vaughn, both of Borger, and a sister Joan Belding of Columbus, Indiana.

Mary Ellen Vaughn is preceded in death by her husband Shelby Flores Vaughn in 1988, her parents Clyde and Mary Marling, two sisters, Fairy Faith Marling, and Sara Locas, three brothers, Arnold, Dick, and Hadley Marling.
