Mary Wade

Mary Ellen Wade, 91 of Panhandle went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday February 12, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Panhandle. Burial will be 2:00 pm Friday at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. The funeral service will be live streamed from First Baptist Church face book page. There will be a family and friends visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Ellen was born November 21, 1929 at Lelia Lake, TX to William Thomas and Alice Melissa (Lowery) Floyd. She married Luther John Wade Sr. on June 17, 1945 in Shamrock, TX. She came with her husband to Panhandle in 1968 from Borger where they owned and operated Coast to Coast Hardware Store. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Panhandle. She loved to cook, sing, being around people and sending birthday cards and anniversary cards.

Preceding her in death are her parents, four brothers and four sisters, her husband, her daughter Bonnie Eileen, grandsons, Kelly Lynn Goswick and Ricky Alan McGowen, granddaughters, Jamie Jo Lycan, Raelyn Hickman, and great-grandson Tyler Cobb.  Also preceeding her are her son-in-laws, Mark Lycan and Richard Valenzuela.

Surviving is a son John Wade Jr., and wife Donna of Panhandle; daughters, Susan and husband Gary McGowen of Midland, TX, Mary and husband Richard Robinson of Panhandle, Bettie Valenzuela of Childress, TX, Jenny Wade-Lycan of Panhandle, and Johna and husband Mark Figueroa of Borger.  Ellen was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren,
