Matthew was born March 11, 1992 in Amarillo, Texas to Matthew Steven Garcia and Kimberly Thompson. He graduated from Borger High School and remained in Borger to work alongside his father at Customs By Steve. Not many people his age can say they love what they do, but he truly enjoyed painting automobiles. In fact when he would get home from work he could be found in his shop with Kayson working on his C10. Matthew enjoyed going fishing, being on the boat, golfing and rooting for his favorite team to cover the spread. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Stephanie Joy Garcia; grandmothers, Mary Ann Garcia, Kathy Thompson; and uncle, Tim Garcia.
Survivors include his parents, Steve and Kim Garcia of Borger; sister, Katie Ledford and husband Brent of Borger; niece, Samantha Ledford; nephews, Ashton Garcia, Deegan Ledford; girlfriend, Sheila Reed; her children, Bailey Reed, Kayson Reed, Rhyan Reed, Jayden Reed all of Borger; grandfathers, Lupe Garcia of Borger, Larry Thompson of Borger; aunts and uncles, Guy Garcia, Chris Garcia and wife Mary, Jamie Garcia and Dana Rodriguez, Scottie Garcia all of Borger; Kathy Lumsden and husband Ron of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Karin Smith and husband Ronnie of Burnett, Texas; numerous cousins; and a host of extended family.
