Mattie Cotton

Mattie Lee Cotton, 85, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Claude, Texas. Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Panhandle Cemetery. Pastor Larry Perkins of the Trinity Fellowship Church of Panhandle will be officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mattie was born August 21, 1926 to Ralph and Ruby Bledsoe Rankin in Magazine, Arkansas. Mattie married Garland Cotton on March 27, 1945 in Magazine, Arkansas. They moved from Shamrock to Panhandle in 1983. She was a homemaker and loved crafting, shooting pool, playing dominoes and crocheting.

Mattie is survived by her husband, Garland two sons Wayne Newman and wife Jean of Savanna, Oklahoma, Ray Cotton and wife Diana of Ozark, Arkansas three daughters, Cindy Maddox and husband Michael of Panhandle Joletta Powell of East Strousburg , Pennsylvania Jeanette Kirkland and husband Pete of Troup, Texas 10 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren and one GreatGreat Grandchild.
