Maxine Carlson

Maxine Lucille Carlson, 87, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 in Amarillo.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Craig Methodist Chapel in Amarillo with Rev. David Schatte, Associate Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday in The Garden of Beatitudes at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Carlson was born on January 30, 1923 in Agricola, KS. She went to the University of Kansas where she met her husband Rollin Carlson and earned her Bachelors Degree. She then earned her Masters from West Texas State University. She was an elementary school teacher for the Borger Independent School District for over 30 years. After retiring she enjoyed traveling, visiting her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and was an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rollin N. Carlson in 1973, daughter Cynthia Anderson and son James Butch Carlson.

She is survived by her brothers Eldon Sheneman of Philadelphia, PA, Ralph Sheneman of California, soninlaw Gary Anderson of Canyon, TX, daughterinlaw Patsy Wurl and husband Roy of Altamont, IL, two grandchildren Brian Carlson and Elissa Anderson and two greatgrandchildren Jessica Carlson and James Carlson.
