Melba Gunn

Melba Jean Gunn, 82, died Tuesday January 14, 2014 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Westlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Leonard Forsythe of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Melba was born June 30, 1931 to Johnathan and Edna Wilson Torbett in Muldrow, Oklahoma. She came to Borger in 1936 where she later met and married E. L. Buster Gunn. Melba was a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church and was Past President of the B.P.O.E. Elkettes.

She is survived by her son Philip Gunn and his wife Laura of Borger, her daughter Leigh Ann Turley of Borger, a stepson Jackie Gunn and his wife Alta of Mesquite, TX, her sister Waneva Richardson and husband Charles of McKinney, TX, 4 grandchildren Jennifer Gunn and husband Michael, Eric Turley, Aaron Turley and Nick Gunn, her great grandson Dakota Turley.

There will be a family visitation on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.
