Michael Dennis Hudson, USN Veteran, 54, passed away April 11, 2016.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tim Hall of Grace Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Michael Dennis Hudson was born November 3, 1961 in Borger, Texas to Bobby and Sarah (Story) Hudson. He graduated from Phillips High School and then joined the United States Navy as a Corpsman. Michael was chosen with distinction to join the elite Navy Seals as a Dive Med-Tech and earned the advanced medical distinction of Independent Duty Corpsman. He earned his Jump Wings, Dive Bubble, and several service combat medals. Michael served with distinction in Desert Storm and in several missions in South America. Many men owe their lives to him.
He was chosen for the honor of recovering and bringing home fallen soldiers. Michael's final service with the USN (MDSU) was to preserve the resting place of those interred at the Pearl Harbor Memorial. He carried out his duties with merit and bravery.
Michael lived and died believing his greatest accomplishment and gift was his daughter, Amber Hudson. She was his anchor and his greatest love.
Michael is preceded in death by his sister Cheryl Hayes.
Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Sarah Hudson of Borger, Texas; his daughter, Amber Hudson of Lubbock, Texas; two sisters, Kimberly Riddell and husband Gary of Allen, Texas, Vickie Coveleski and her husband Joseph of Ukiah, California; his brother Brandon Hudson of Fritch, Texas; two grandchildren, Makaya and Grayson, and many nieces and nephews.
