Mikel Chacon

Mikel Gilbert Chacon, 40, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015.

A memorial service will be held 2 pm Thursday, April 9, 2014 at Faith Covenant Church with Pastor Charles Dickson, officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 pm in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm Wednesday,, April 8, 2015 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, his memory may be honored with a gift to the Go Fund Me account set up in his honor.

Mikel was born November 2, 1974 in Tulia, Texas to Gilbert Chacon and Betty Carter. He loved being outdoors being with nature and surrounded by trees, sometimes that was on his motorcycle other times it was being at the river or cooking out with his family.

He is preceded in death by his father; sister, Meleta Carter; and grandmother, Lorene Carter.

Survivors include his wife, Maria of the home; son, Carter Chacon and wife Shayla Gillum of Amarillo; daughters, Ashley Sosebee and husband, Tyler of Fountain, Colorado, Kimberly Chacon of Borger, Autumn Chacon of Seiling, Oklahoma; grandson, Maddex Jayse Chacon; mother, Betty Carter of Borger; sister, Mandy Mills of Fritch; grandfather, Virgil Carter of Fritch; friend and business partner, Rafael Dickson of Borger.
