Miles Green

Miles Junior Green, 83, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Amarillo.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at New Hope Assembly of God in Panhandle with Pastor Jerald Middaugh officiating. Cremation is under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Mr. Green was born on January 21, 1928 in Osceola, Iowa and had been a Panhandle resident since 1973, moving there from Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He married Jean Nichols in New London, Iowa on February 24, 1949. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Pantex. Mr. Green was known as the Lawn Mower Man in Panhandle. He was also a musician and played in a band. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife Erma Jean Green of the home, two sons Roger Green and wife Diana and Gary Green and wife Beverly, two daughters Linda Ogburn and husband Mike and Gale Stribling all of Panhandle, thirteen grandchildren, twentythree greatgrandchildren and one greatgreat grandchild.
