Mittie B. Chandler, 95, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 in Amarillo, Texas.BRBRGraveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Highland Park Cemetery with Pastor Monte Kreis of First Methodist Church in Canadian officiating. Interment will be in Memory Lane Garden at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Direcors of Borger.BRBRMrs. Chandler was born on August 27, 1912 in Hackett, Arkansas. She lived in Phillips, Tx from 1941 to 1993 and then moved to White Deer Edinberg for 13 years. Mittie married Bert Chandler on April 11, 1937 in Oklahoma City, OK and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in White Deer. She was a registered nurse and had worked for North Plains Hospital and was a school nurse for Phillips Schools. She loved reading her Bible, her grandkids, embroidery work and quilting.BRBRShe is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Smith husband Bob of Lyons, Tx and Joan Pieffer husband Lyle of White Deer, Tx, three grandchildren - Tammy Archie Boothe, Jackie Margie Gray, Leigh Anne Ricky Poole and five great-grandchildren - Nikki Poole, Kendra Poole, Jacob Gray, Jared Gray and Chandler Gray.BRBRMemorials may be made to Heritage Convelescent Home Building Fund, 1009 Clyde, Amarillo 79106.
