Myrtle Batenhorst

Myrtle H. Batenhorst, 92, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Monday, November 4, 2019 in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Myrtle was born September 8, 1927 on a farm northeast of Bradley, in Clark County, South Dakota to George and Ragna (Siggerud) Bjerke.  She attended country school west and south of Bradley at the Colgate School prior to attending Bradley High School.  Myrtle married Gerald Batenhorst on February 6, 1971.  She worked as a waitress at Sutphen’s Restaurant for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Donald Springer; siblings, Palmer Bjerke, Oscar Bjerke, Olive Zwieg, Gladys Bull, Helga Finstad, George “Tenny” Bjerke, Gilman Bjerke, Richard Bjerke, Melcom “Max” Bjerke; and adopted niece, Peggy.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald of Fritch; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
