Neva M. Houston, 95, died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in Borger.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch with Chaplain Max Brown of BSA Hospice. Interment will be in The Garden of Devotion at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Mrs. Houston was born on September 7, 1914 in Elk County, Kansas and had been a Fritch resident since 1960, moving from Borger. Neva married William Fred Houston on August 12, 1952 in Clovis, NM. She was an operator for the telephone company for 15 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fritch and the Home Demonstration Club. She had been a Sunday School teacher for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents - Benjamin and Nellie Nay, son - Ben Hastings in 2008, brother - Owen Nay, and sister - Nadine Hammons.
Neva is survived by her husband - Fred Houston of the home, two daughters - Frances Taylor and husband Vernon of Borger, Jane Bryan and husband Mike of Fritch, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
