Norma Helton

Norma Jean McKinney Helton, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday, April 22, 2016 in First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch with Pastor Calvin Winters officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to Casa de Esperanza, P.O. Box 9222, Columbus, MS 39075 or to First Southern Baptist Church Youth, P.O. Box 358, Fritch, TX 79036.

A lifelong resident of Hutchinson County Norma was born July 25, 1929 in Borger to Ruby (Warren) and Samuel Pfrimmer and was raised in Phillips. She graduated from Phillips High School in 1946. Norma was a member of the Borger Duplicate Club and First Southern Baptist Church of Fritch. She volunteered for Golden Plains Community Hospital as well as the Opportunity Center and Meals on Wheels.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Morris McKinney in 1986 and Carrol Helton in 2011; sister, Dorothy Balding and grandson, Ryan Tindall.

Survivors include daughters, Terri Tindall of Santa Ana, Honduras, Jana Schick and husband, J.D. of Fritch; step-daughters, Mary Kay Khurts and husband Curtis of Amarillo, Janet Byars and husband Steve of Amarillo, Carolyn Richmond and husband George of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Nathan Tindall and wife Julia, Nicole Fitzgerald and husband Matt, Clay Schick and Brandy Fine; and five great grandchildren, Camille, Thatcher, Haley, Emma and Paige.
