Norman Shuman

Norman Doc Shuman, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior November 30, 2014.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Borger Word of Life Church. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Norman Shuman, primarily known as Doc or Pastor, was born November 29, 1932 in Anderson, Indiana to Horace and Wanda Shuman. He married Betty Hellems on August 19, 1951 in Anderson, Indiana. Dr. Shuman graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in 1953 and practiced for 10 years in Durant, Oklahoma until the Lord called him to Pastor in Antlers, Oklahoma for 25 years and in Borger, Texas for 23 years.

Doc Shuman loved the ministry and enjoyed telling stories from the past. He thrived on helping people.

He is preceded in death by his son, Stuart Shuman and his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home daughters, Pat LaBrie of Oklahoma City, Peggy Quinn and husband, John of Borger son, Stephen Shuman and wife, Yvonne of Houston five grandchildren, Anthony Shuman, Christopher Emerson, Aaron Quinn and wife Dejah, Meredith Hoover and husband, Jason, Candace McCoy and husband Jon four great grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremiah, Josiah, Jadyn and goddaughter, Jeannette Logico of the Philippines.
