Novelle Levena Hamilton, 81, earned her wings surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, January 6, 2022.
Novelle was born September 12, 1940 in Wellington, Texas to J. L. and Maggie Branch. She married Nathan Hamilton on September 19, 1960 in Wellington, Texas. Together they had three children, LaDona, Ricky and Kay and have lived in Panhandle since 1964. She worked as a cosmetologist for several years and was an active member of the Jacettes.
She enjoyed playing bingo, slots, Yahtzee and loved crocheting baby blankets for all of her grandchildren. She found great joy in supporting her children, grand children and great grandchildren in every aspect of their lives. Most importantly she will forever be remembered as the undefeated arm-wrestling champion of the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. L. and Maggie Branch; brothers, Billie Ray Branch and Donald Lee Branch; grandchildren Shelby Lynn Noble, Jordan Taylor Bednorz and Joshua Luke Bednorz.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Nathan Hamilton of Panhandle; three children, LaDona Bednorz and husband Michael of Dumas, Ricky Hamilton of Panhandle and Kay Sharp and husband Jeff of Colorado City, Texas; brothers, James Lynn Branch and Gary Paul Branch; grandchildren Danny, Kyle, Brandon, Cody, Little Michael, LaTasha, Jeremy, RaDona, Shanae, Travis, Levi, Hunter, Taner and Brayden and 33 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, January 10, 2022 at The River Church in Panhandle. Burial will follow at the Panhandle Cemetery, under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Her memory may be honored with a donation in her name to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation or The Alzheimer’s Association.
