Odessie Matthews, 91, of Borger died Sunday, October 21, 2012. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, at the Cross Community Church of God, with Bill Ratchford, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Odessie was born on September 23, 1921 in Wright City, Oklahoma to Clyde and Ruby Malone Flowers. She loved to quilt, crochet, fish and cook.
Odessie was preceded in death by her parents her sons, James David Ritchson, Jack Thomas Matthews, Joe Davis Matthews, and Jimmy Bimbo Matthews.
Odessie is survived by her daughters, Altha Lorene Cross of Chilicothe, TX Leatha Joe Mitchell, of Borger and Alice Jo Lance, Nacade, TX sons, Haskell Truman Matthews, and Jerry Wayne Matthews both of Borger sisters, Ceola McKay of Canyon, TX, and Letha Long of Aspermont, TX one brother, Jimmy Flowers of Amarillo, TX 23 Grandchildren 56 Great Grandchildren and 28 GreatGreat Grandchildren.
