Opal Marie Bryan, 89, died Wednesday, October 25th, 2006 in Borger, Texas.BRBRServices will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Maze officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Good Shepherd at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger,Texas.
Opal was born on March 11, 1917 in Pinch, West Virginia to William Johnson Jarrett and Rosa Ellen Myers Jarrett. She moved to Penwell, Texas in 1934 to be a nanny for her widowed brother's children. On September 11, 1935 she married W. Paul Bryan, Sr. who was from Charleston, West Virginia. They moved from Penwell to Borger in 1942. Opal and Paul had three children: Warren Paul, Jr., Janet Faye and Glenna Marie. Opal was a homemaker and she also babysat for numerous families in Borger. She loved to play card games with her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Borger.BRBRShe was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rosa Jarrett, her husband, W. Paul Bryan, her son, Paul, Jr., her brother, Wilbur Jarrett, and her sister, Ethel Metz.BRBRHer survivors include two daughters - Janet Forrest and her husband Bob of Borger, Glenna Berinti and her husband Mark of Fritch, also a daughter-in-law - Margaret Bryan of Fritch, seven grandchildren - Bobby Forrest, Jeff Forrest, Tammy Bryan Hampton, Chris Bryan, Lonnie Bryan, Angela Berinti Brinson, and Todd Berinti; fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.BRBRCasket Bearers will be Bobby Forrest, Jeff Forrest, Chris Bryan, Lonnie Bryan, Todd Berinti, and Branch Brinson.BRBRThe family will receive friends at 212 Concord St. in borger and suggest that memorials be made to The Gideons International, Box 5800, Borger 79008-5800.
