Opal Vern ReevesBRBROur beloved Mother and grandmother, BROpal Vern Reeves of Borger, passed away peacefully at Golden Plains Community Hospital during the afternoon of Friday, July 31, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. At the time of her death, Mrs. Reeves was 90 years old and was preceded in death by her husband, Willard V. Reeves Sr. and two sons; James Reeves and Willard V. Reeves, Jr. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday August 4th at Church of Christ at Borger with Mr. Gary Bodine of Wellington, Kansas officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in the Garden of Love under the direction of MintonChatwell funeral Directors of Borger. Casket bearers will be Stetson Reeves, John Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez, Blake Reeves, Darren Reeves, and David Reeves.BRBROne of 12 siblings, Opal was born to Frank and Henrietta Castleman on December 9th, 1918 in Harmon County, Oklahoma. Much loved throughout her life, Mrs. Reeves was the adored mother of 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Moving to the Borger area in 1945, Opal loved gardening, cooking and sewing, as well as time spent in the company of children and grandchildren. During her time, she worked as a cook at Borger nursing homes, and dedicated herself to her children and friends. BRBRMrs. Reeves is survived by one son Ricky L. Reeves, Fritch Texas. Two daughters Betty Anderson, Castroville Texas, Michelle and John Rodriguez, Borger. Daughter in laws Edie Reeves of Borger and Elizabeth Reeves of Pampa. Her 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Church of Christ at Borger 1100 Bulldog Blvd, Borger, Tx. 79007, BR BR BR BRBR BR BR
