Otis Wayne Parker, 89 of Borger passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday April 25, 2017 at the First Christian Church of Fritch, with Pastor Sheralyn Larsen officiating. Burial will follow at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Otis was born August 11, 1927 in Sentinel, OK to John and Sallie (McCurry) Parker. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Otis has lived in the Texas Panhandle since 1971 and was a salesman for the High Plains Coffee Company. He was also a member of the First Christian Church of Fritch, and a member of the American Legion. His grandkids called him Doc, but Luke called him Dot.
Otis was preceded in death by his father in 1979 and his mother in 1997; brothers, Ken Parker in 1979, and J. E. Parker 2005; sister Virginia Bridwell in 1988; and his son Mark Parker in 2004.
He is survived by his sons, Mike Parker of New Braunfels, TX, Miles Parker of Port Lavaca, TX, Dewayne Yeager of Stinnett; daughters, Betty Lou Caddell and husband, Doug of Perryton, and Donna Sue Huddleston and husband, Allen of Borger; 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Otis' name to BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th St, Ste. 100, Amarillo, TX, 79106 or First Christian Church of Fritch 400 Overland Tr., Fritch, TX 79036.
