Patrick Armstrong

Patrick W. Armstrong, 65, died Sunday, February 14, 2010 in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Patrick was born on February 18, 1944 in Queso, Texas to Rex Aileen Armstrong and was a lifetime resident of Borger. He married Kathleen Ferguson on September 1, 1966 in Borger. He was an operator stillman for Phillips Petroleum Refinery. Patrick enjoyed surfing and skateboarding. He loved growing plants, hunting and skeet shooting. He was a member of the Adobe Walls Gun Club and was a Baptist.

He also served for four years in the US Navy. He served in the US Army in the Rangers Special Forces, the 827th Airborne and the 101st Airborne and received the Bronze Star.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Armstrong of the home, two sons Patrick Kevin Armstrong and wife Kristen of Borger, Micach Armstrong and wife Samantha of Sanford, daughter Crystal Peterson and husband Keith of Amarillo, father Rex Armstrong of Des Moines, Iowa, sister Sharon Armstrong of Des Moines, Iowa, seven grandchildren Ashley, Gavin, Gabrielle, Grace, Genesis, Addison and Austin.

Casket bearers are Sandy Ferguson, Frank Graham, Thor Spalsbury, Damon Parkhurst, Keith Peterson, Rocky Ferguson and Mark Collier.
