Patsy May Simpson, 69, died Monday, June 1, 2009 in Amarillo.BRBRServices will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Hope at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.BRBRMrs. Simpson was born on September 28, 1939 in Austin, Tx. and had been a lifetime Borger resident. She was a retired cook at the Opportunity Center and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, craftwork, fishing, groomed poodles and worked at the Marina. She was preceded in death by her father Pat Harland Armstrong, step-father James Akins and grandson Douglas Long.BRBRShe is survived by her two sons - Johnny Nowell wife Sharon of Borger, Lt. Col. Clifton Johnston and wife Vicki of Arkansas, two daughters - Brenda Gardner husband Rodger of Borger, Regina Reynolds of Louisiana, mother - Dorothy Akins of Borger, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and special friend - John Gilreath.BRBRThe family will be staying at 702 Allred in Borger.
