Paul Mckinney

Paul McKinney, 95, of Borger died Wednesday May 9, 2012 at the Texas State Veterans Home in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday May 14 at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Howard of Amarillo officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Paul was born December 26, 1916 in Dodson, TX where he grew up to Ozra and Lola McKinney. October 25, 1941 he married Amazell Clement in Wellington and then went to serve In the U. S. Navy during WW II. After the war, he and Amazell moved to Borger where he owned and operated the Bunavista 66 Service Station until he retired in 1981. Paul loved to play golf, dominoes, cards or any other competitive games. After Amazelles death on May 9, 1998 he married Doris Birch in 2000.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Amazelle, his mother and father, and six brothers Rufus, Bun, Elton, Morris, Curtis and Wylie.

He is survived by his wife Doris, his son Donny Paul McKinney and wife Sharon of Amarillo, his daughter Mona Reagan and husband Jonny of Pampa, his grandchildren Brian Reagan and wife Hope of Borger, Leah Mitchell and husband Caleb of Springdale, AR, Jared McKinney and wife Lyz of Dalhart and Jordan McKinney of Lubbock, five greatgrandchildren and three stepchildren Tommy Birch and wife Linda, Karen Demings and husband Marvin and Deanna Miller.

Casket bearers will be Jared McKinney, Jordan McKinney, Bill McKinney, Caleb Mitchell, Larry Mizar and Brian Reagan.

Family visitation will be Sunday May 13 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
