BRPauline Lyles, 95, died Tuesday, January 29th in Amarillo.BRBRServices will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Joe Zimmerman, pastor officiating. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Lower Green's Creek Cemetery in Dublin, Tx under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.BRBRMrs. Lyles was born on January 15, 1913 in Tipton, Oklahoma. She married C. E. Doc Lyles on December 15, 1929 in Brownfield. They moved to Panhandle in 1942 when Mr. Lyles started working at Pantex. In 1960, Mr. Lyles retired from Pantex and they bought a fishing camp at Possum Kingdom Lake. They later moved to Dublin, Tx. Mr. Lyes preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lyles was a homemaker and attended First Baptist Church in Panhandle. She loved to have family gatherins, oil painting, needle work, fishing and quilting. She started the Fun Time Quilters and quilted once a week for almost 20 years at the Carson County Square House Museum. The quilts were always on exhibit and she really loved being called The Quilt Lady.BRBRShe is survived by three daughters - Burnis Henderson of Lake Granbury, Tx., Rossie Gideon husband Gene and Bobbie Smith all of Panhandle, nine grandchildren - Donna Williams husband Danny of Lupin, Jacqueline Kerr of Ft. Worth, Carl Gideon wife Elaine of Quinlin, Ricky Ford 7 wife Shann of Canyon, Debbie Simmons husband Walter of Wheeler, June Gibson, Janice Bills husband Dennis, Robert Gideon wife Shelia all of Amarillo, and David Henderson of Marshall, fourteen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.BRBRMemorials may be made to Bivins Memorial home, 1001 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, Tx 79106 or to Carson County Square House Museum, PO Box 276, Panhandle, TX 79068.
