Philip was one of fifteen children born to Eugene L. and Margaret Hammer in Hereford, TX, on August 26, 1960. Philip graduated from Panhandle High School in 1978. Philip worked in the natural gas and pipeline industry in various capacities for 39 years.
Philip married the love of his life, Kayla Kunneman, on May 20, 1989, in Okarche, OK. Philip's world revolved around his family. He actively supported his children, Sarah and Travis, through all of their endeavors, from coaching little league baseball to driving the band bus. His favorite pastimes were watching his children do what they love, and fishing, fishing, and more fishing. He was a hard worker, and he enjoyed going to work every day at Energy Transfer Partners. He was actively involved in his church, serving on several committees and as an usher.
Philip greeted everyone with a big dimpled smile. He spread laughter wherever he went with his witty comments and sense of humor. He liked everyone he met…except maybe a few referees.
